“God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God” (Psalm 62:11).
There is probably nothing more inspiring than to look in nature for evidences of God’s power! A little study before you go out will make your time outside much more meaningful.
Preparation: Provide pencils and paper for all participants.
Action: After prayer, begin with Psalm 33:6–9. Then read Genesis 1. God’s WORD was enough to establish whatever He commanded. And that power of creation is still in the world, sustaining His creation. (For example, the command in Genesis 1:11 is still causing the earth to bring forth grass, herbs, and trees!) Think of the tiny blade of corn, pushing aside a large dirt clod. Think of a peach seed that is burst open by the germ inside. This shows power! Power of the WORD!
As you go out into nature, armed with pencil and paper, look for the many evidences of God’s power. Write or draw what you find.
Application: Gather back together and share your findings. Now sing a song about God's power, such as "I Sing the Mighty Power."
